Cannes Yachting Festival Celebrates its 40th Anniversary in September 2017

Internationally renowned as the Cannes Boat Show and true to its reputation as Europe’s leading in-water boat show, the Cannes Yachting Festival, will be hosting over 600 boats afloat on display from 12th to 17th September 2017 in the two ports of Cannes: The Old Port and Port Canto. Superyachts, yachts, sailing boats, multihulls, small motorboats… Around one hundred boats will make their world premiere and admired by more than 51,000 visitors from all over the globe.

This September marks a very special anniversary for the Cannes Yachting Festival as it celebrates its 40th year in the elegant and luxurious surroundings of the sparkling bay of Cannes.

The Festival has been the first boat show to take place in the international yachting calendar since 1977 and therefore forefront in showcasing the highest number of new model launches and innovative designs.

A grand event will take place during the Festival to mark the special 40th Anniversary, which will celebrate the four decades of this magnificent boat show.

Recognised as one of the most important international boating events and Europe’s largest in-water show, the Cannes Yachting Festival is known for its eclecticism and the wealth of vessels presented in a wide range of sizes. Following the successful launch of La Terrasse during last year’s show, the Cannes Boat Show is unveiling the ‘Luxury Gallery’ situated within the Palais des Festivals which will be dedicated to premium brands outside of yachting. This will include watches, jewellery, fine sprits, fashion and accessories, household decoration, linens, furniture, design, art, high-tech products and services.

Returning for a third year, the Festival’s “Concours d’Elégance” competition provides a unique spectacle of rare vintage and modern-day boats at the heart of this world-renowned show. A seamless addition to the show’s luxury credentials, the event will take place in the Vieux Port alongside the VIP pontoon and the Festival’s beach area on Thursday 14th September. Exclusively open to exhibitors, owners and collectors of motorboats and day-boats of 12 metres or less, the event will be a rare occasion for visitors to admire the most exquisite fleet of the finest classic yachts, antique vessels as well as the latest releases on display at this year’s Cannes Boat Show.

New Boats Display: Spread in 8 sections in the Old Port the world’s leading shipyards, brokers, boat accessories, nautical services, yacht-transport, yacht-refit and other players in the nautical industry, will display tenders, sailboats and motor-yachts from 10 to 55 metres on the Luxury Gallery, Palais des Festivals, Superyachts Extension, Jetty, Pantiero, Multihull area, Quai Saint Pierre and Quai Max Laubeuf.

Brokerage and Charter Area: For more than 10 years, the Brokerage & Charter Area of the Cannes Yachting Festival has been installed on the docks of Port Canto on the other end of the famous Croisette and is reachable in just 7 minutes by sea from the Old Port (either by the public shuttles from the Super Yacht Extension, or by the VIP shuttles departing from the VIP pontoon. Port Canto hosts the key players of the second-hand yacht market. The sailing and motor yachts presented there by the biggest international brokers and renowned charter companies, are at least 22 metres long. These large pre-owned boats are offered for sale and/or for charter.

Opening hours: Open daily from 10am. The show closes at 7pm, except on Friday at 10pm, and Sunday at 6pm.
